简介 Synopsis:
这部纪录片记录了台湾台南苏厝村每三年举行一次的烧王船祭典。导演张照堂去除了祭典现场的声响，并以音乐家麦克・欧菲尔德的前卫摇滚作品（Ommadawn）作为唯一配乐，使影像与音乐相互呼应，层层推进，呈现出祭典的出神与狂热。这不仅在当时的电视上前所未见，也被认为开展了台湾实验和诗意纪录片的未来性。
The documentary captures a ceremony held every three years in Sucuo Village in Tainan, Taiwan, where devotees worship Wangye, the local deity of plagues. Synchronised with Mike Oldfield’s progressive rock album “Ommadawn”, the film defies genre conventions and deviates from television or ethnographic documentaries. It reveals the tense and complex coexistence of traditional rites, local folklore, and discourses on modernisation and identity in 1970s Taiwan.
